Ruth Pawson School

Our school opened in 1976 and was named after Ms. Ruth Pawson.

Ruth Pawson was born in Ontario, and then moved to Regina as a child.

She had a distinguished career with the Regina Public School Board, starting as a teacher in 1929 and retiring as a primary consultant in 1966.

Her talent as an artist has bought acclaim from far beyond Canada's borders.

A teacher who set high standards for herself, she led by example and challenged with warmth and compassion.

Cross Country

This year over 30 students participated in Cross Country running. Those students ran in a race at Douglas Park on Sept. 20. They represented Ruth Pawson School very well, and many of them placed in the top 25 of their age categories. Students in the top 25 competed again on Oct. 4 against other students from all Regina Public Schools. The following students placed in the top 5 for their age categories: Marissa H. - 1st place, Aziella G. - 2nd place, Isabella S. - 3rd place, Dane M. - 3rd place, and Brodie H. - 4th place. Great job, and congratulations to all of our runners!!

FCC Drive Away Hunger

Ruth Pawson School will once again participate in the FCC Drive Away Hunger program by collecting donations of food for people who are hungry in our area. By participating in this program, FCC will include our school in two draws for a $500 donation.

Please send food items to school with your child between Oct. 5 - 12, to support this program. FCC staff will bring a big tractor and trailer to collect our donations on Oct. 12.

Donating food isn't the only way to participate; we are also doing an in-school activity so every student can get involved.
