Nominate a Deserving Staff Member

FEBRUARY 25, 2021 -- Regina Public Schools employees make the difference in the lives and the futures of all of our students. A smile from a child, a “thank you” from a parent or a “great job!” from a colleague are signs of how you are contributing in small and in big ways to the Regina community and its citizens.

Peer and community recognition can be meaningful indicators of merit. More than a decade ago, the Regina Board of Education introduced the Shared Values Recognition Program (SVRP). Since that time, many exceptional staff members who have most exemplified the Shared Values, were recognized and honoured. I Belong; I Respect; I Want to Know and I Am Responsible...these Shared Values have informed our school division’s recent past and, with the support of employees, they will continue to inspire our future as we listen, grow and evolve to meet the needs of our many communities and students.

The past year was challenging for any kind of personal gathering or recognition. In the 2019-20 school year, 10 SVRP recipients were selected. Although there was no formal in-person recognition, Director of Education Greg Enion presented their recognition plaques. What the 2020-21 school year will bring in terms of opportunities to recognize our peers publicly remains unknown. In spite of this uncertainty, the Board of Education and the school division administration are pleased to launch the SVRP for this school year.

We are encouraging Regina Public Schools staff, parents/caregivers, students and community members to recognize and honour those who make a difference in our schools and offices. We are looking for staff who exemplify the Shared Values and who make significant contributions through their work. As part of this program, up to 10 Regina Public Schools employees will be honoured at the beginning of the 2021-22 school year.

Details of how to nominate, including forms and deadlines, will soon be shared through schools, websites and social media. Please watch out for them and start thinking about who among you most exemplifies the Shared Values.

Campus Regina Public to Reopen in September 2021!

FEBRUARY 9, 2021 -- Regina Public Schools will once again be offering a full selection of career pathway opportunities for Grades 11 and 12 students through Campus Regina Public (CRP). Because of COVID protocols during the 2020-21 school year, CRP was temporarily closed and opened its doors to provide a space for eSchool K to Grade 12 teachers to facilitate online learning and instruction. We are happy to announce that our CRP teachers will be dusting off the table saws, powering back up the lights, firing up the hair dryers and accepting rusty Pontiac Sunfires for the 2021-22 school year.

Campus Regina Public strives to make meaningful connections between industry standard career-centred programs and academic knowledge. Campus Regina Public provides two-credit comprehensive programs that demonstrate how subjects such as Math, Science and English apply outside of school. Industry partners are integrated into the curriculum to enhance student engagement, meaningful vocational skills and numerous job prospects. By working closely with our industry partners, depending on their career path, Campus Regina Public strives to have students ready for university, technical college and/or jobs.

To provide an advantage in the job market, Campus Regina Public works with many organizations to provide certification or apprenticeship hours required for employment or journeyperson certification. We need your help to get students thinking about the benefits of taking a course at CRP. If you know a student who is job oriented and a hands-on learner with a vocational pathway related to a CRP course, we would like to encourage you to direct them to the CRP website, talk to the school guidance counsellors and pick up a registration form from their school’s office.

CRP teachers are excited to return to the classroom and shops to build relationships and engage with our future students, families, post-secondary institutions and industry!

During the 2021-22 school year, CRP will be offering the following 13 courses:

  • Advanced Construction and Technology
